Priceline Kiosk

About

2022

Ever since the ongoing pandemic, cosmetic sampling has been a major risk, where one of the main spreading factors of covid is direct germ contact. Some stores do not display testers due to these circumstances, which prevents from customers trying out these cosmetic products before purchasing them. This could lead to major returns and refunds from customers who are not satisfied with the purchase. Most of the time it is not appropriate for the returned product to be displayed back on the shelf due to health hazards, but instead, employers are to dispose of the products properly, creating a wasteful procedure.

Project objective

The aim of this project is to design a user-friendly interface for platforms such as mobile apps and interactive kiosks, allowing customers to feel confident to find the right product for themself, walking out of the store stratified. This will prevent unsatisfied customer returns and potential major product waste.

Constraint

The information needed for this assessment is, unfortunately, limited. During the research, there were not many design elements such as the visual identity and brand guild. Potential resources can only be accessed through website subscriptions.

Stock Search

Customers can search for the item they are looking for and see whether or not the store has it in stock. Currently, on the official Priceline website itself, the users can not access the stock levels in the stores, which resolves with them having to order online or risk the chance to enter the store, hoping that their product is in store.

• These are targeted at those who are shy to ask for assistance, if there’s no available stuff to help out or if the user is in a rush.

Skincare quiz

Customers can take a short quiz that will help create a personalised skincare kit to fit the customer’s needs. The quiz will help narrow down the best product for the user to purchase, gaining a user’s self-trust, knowing for themselves that they bought the right product.

• This is targeted toward those who are new to the skincare routine and are unsure about what products to purchase.

• Reduce time spent in-store researching each product and looking up reviews.

AI cosmetic filters

The AI feature allows customers to preview cosmetic products themselves before making a purchase. This idea is similar to putting on a filter on Instagram or Snapchat. Sometimes in the physical store itself, the store does not display every single item in the store or the testing product being stolen. • This reduces cosmetic product testing, preventing possible virus spread among customers to customers.
